5-Hour Pre-Licensing Course

Get your teen started driving safely with our 5-hour pre-licensing course

 

Completion of this course earns an MV-278 certificate, which is required to schedule the State Road Test. 

Students MUST bring their permit to the class for an in-person class; Students MUST have uploaded a photo of their permit for the virtual class

 

Classroom Course - Video-conferencing classroom courses available

 

Virtual Five Hour Courses now offered via Zoom conference. An upload of the student's NYS Learner Permit is required at the time of registration. 

 

AAA Members Price: $45 

Non-Members Price: $52 

 

The Instructor-led virtual course is open to people of all ages.

A course is available most days and covers the following driving fundamentals:
  • The DMV point system 
  • The highway transportation system 
  • The laws of physics as they relate to driving and the effects of restraining devices 
  • Defensive driving techniques 
  • The effects of driver attitude, emotions, and skills Alcohol and drugs and their effect on driving 
  • What to do in case of a collision 

 

Note: The original MV-278 certificate must be presented to the examiner on the day of the road test
