Nicholas Macchia has joined AAA Western and Central New York as the new Director of Information Technology. From AAA’s Amherst headquarters, Nick will oversee the ongoing operations and service delivery of IT infrastructure and application systems across Western and Central New York.

Formerly the Director of Enterprise Systems and Services for BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, Nick brings over 20 years of senior-level IT experience to AAA Western and Central New York. Nick’s background includes strategy development, governance and service management, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and applications management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a minor in Economics from Canisius College.

Nick says he was interested in the opportunity with AAA for its future possibilities. “I saw the desire to embrace new technology and expand the footprint to provide electronic services for a wider customer base of all ages,” he said. “This horizontal growth excited me, and I am thrilled to help with this digital transformation.”

A native of Western New York, Nick resides in Orchard Park with his wife, Jenny, and has two adult daughters. In his free time, Nick loves photography and enjoys vacationing at Disney.
