2020 Holiday Trend: The Gift of Travel
2020 was full of disappointed travelers, growing travel restrictions and postponed dreams; and now travelers are looking to make up for it all by giving the gift of future travel. AAA Western and Central New York has seen an uptick in demand for 2021 and 2022 vacation itineraries. Travelers will certainly scoop up Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers as they look forward to future travel once again.
“Many travelers are realizing that life is short, and they want to indulge themselves in rewarding travel experiences,” said AAA travel consultant Kevin Bloom. “Travelers are choosing bucket list destinations as they plan future travel.”
While travel remains uncertain and the CDC advises travelers to stay home for the holidays, many travelers are planning ahead to ensure they have a trip on the books to look forward to.
“There’s clearly a pent-up demand for travel, and so many travelers have future travel credits from disrupted trips that availability will be limited in choice destinations,” said AAA director of travel Brian Murray. “By giving the gift of travel, families have something to look forward to, and travel is one size fits all!”
AAA travel partners are offering Black Friday and Cyber Monday specials to a variety of destinations, for example:
- AAA Member Choice Vacations – the biggest sale of the year offers up to 20% off group tours worldwide
- Bedsonline – save up to 60% on accommodations for travel now and throughout 2021
- Cruiselines are offering rates as low as $65 per day with a variety of special perks to choose from
- Universal Orlando Resort - 40% off a 4-day/4-night vacation package for travel by 4/30/21
- Villas of Distinction - Up to 30% off, FREE nights, and more + up to $2000 Villas of Distinction Visa Prepaid Card
The villa travel option allows families to vacation at their own property - many are complete with a private pool and other amenities for easy social distancing.
