Local Auto Repair Shop Receives National AAA Award
Bison Automotive and Detail, located at 1370 Kenmore Ave., Buffalo, has received a national award from AAA. The local auto repair shop was named a AAA Best in Auto Repair 2021 and took home the gold award among small facilities across the entire United States.
AAA Automotive launched AAA Best in Auto Repair 2021 to recognize the top-quality work by repair shops within AAA’s Approved Auto Repair program. This year, there were six winners, three gold and three silver, among small, medium, and large categories.
As a gold winner, Bison Automotive received an award to display at the repair shop, a $1,000 prize, and was recognized virtually at AAA’s national 2021 Automotive Conference.
Bison Automotive was founded in 1992 by Bob Gugino. He emphasizes using “cutting-edge technology and real-work experience to get your car back on the road in less time than it takes other shops to simply figure out what’s wrong.” To be eligible for the award, shops must meet strict criteria including a Customer Satisfaction Index of 95% or higher, along with exhibiting a commitment to the local community and to the automotive industry.
“After the shop closes, Bob continues to work in the community at his church and gives back,” explained Steve Finch, Senior Vice President of Automotive Services at AAA Western and Central New York. “He often repairs bicycles for the Boys and Girls Club and has made significant contributions to the betterment of Western New York.”
“We’re overwhelmed and very, very honored,” Gugino said. “AAA has been a good partner for my business.”
Following the national recognition, Bob and his wife were honored at a reception with the automotive team at AAA Western and Central New York.
