Free Battery Testing at AAA’s Trips, Trucks and Trunks
Free Battery Testing at AAA’s Trips, Trucks and Trunks
A beautiful forecast is predicted for this weekend, but soon colder temperatures will be on the way. AAA Western and Central New York advises all motorists to get their car batteries checked now, in advance, to avoid a breakdown when cold mornings arrive. Rather than wait until they are stranded or inconvenienced by a dead battery, motorists should take advantage of free battery testing at AAA’s Trips, Trucks and Trunks event on Saturday, September 18 at AAA’s headquarters in Amherst.
Date: | Saturday, September 18, 2021 |
Time: | 11:00am – 3:00pm |
Location: | AAA – Amherst Travel & Insurance Center 100 International Drive Williamsville, N.Y. 14221 |
An average car battery typically lasts three to five years. Car batteries are more likely to fail in frigid temperatures in our region. Don’t get stranded! Be proactive and have your battery checked this weekend, for free!
If you hear a grinding, clicking or buzzing when you turn the ignition on or if your headlights dim when you are idling, but brighten when you rev the engine, you most likely have a battery problem especially if your battery is more than three years old.
Can’t make it out? AAA’s battery service trucks are equipped to test and install batteries at any location convenient to the motorist – at home or a workplace. Battery service is available in most areas but may not be offered in all areas.
The event will also highlight several services from travel, insurance, automotive and New York State safety experts.
Here's what to expect:
- Presentations on Popular Travel Items and Travel Tips from Travel Advisors
- Touch-a-Truck experience featuring emergency vehicles, a SWAT truck from the Erie County Sheriff's Office, NYS Police car, Amherst Police car, fire truck from the Main-Transit Fire Department
