AAA Western and Central New York phones were ringing off the hook this week as motorists discovered dead car batteries in cold temperatures! Rather than wait until they are stranded or inconvenienced by a dead battery, motorists should take advantage of free battery testing across the region on Friday, November 15 as part of AAA WCNY’s Battery Bonanza, which runs through November 24 and allows participants the chance to win $1,000.

If you hear a grinding, clicking or buzzing when you turn the ignition on or if your headlights dim when you are idling, but brighten when you rev the engine, you most likely have a battery problem especially if your battery is more than three years old.

AAA’s battery service trucks are equipped to test and install batteries at any location convenient to you – even in your own driveway, where such battery service is available (may not be offered in all areas). AAA members save $25 off the retail price of a new battery, and AAA batteries are guaranteed for up to 36 months.
