Lights On Caravan

AAA Western and Central New York is pleased to take part in the 37th annual Donald H. Barrett Lights On Caravan taking place Saturday, November 21.

Organized by the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board, the event begins with a press conference at 10:00 a.m. at the CNY Regional Transportation Authority (CENTRO), corner of Cortland and Tallman Avenues, Syracuse. The Caravan, complete with a AAA vehicle, departs at 10:30 a.m. from Centro. The procession will travel through downtown Syracuse, several suburbs, and then return to Centro. This annual event is held to honor and remember victims of drunk and drugged driving crashes and to remind all drivers of the dangers of driving while impaired. AAA continues to support efforts to curb impaired driving as one in three of crashes involve some level of impairment killing more than 10,000 people annually.

Lights on the Lake

AAA Western and Central New York is proud to be a part of the annual Lights on the Lake – Central New York’s number one holiday tradition. As a safety precaution, AAA WCNY will be on hand to keep spirits bright by providing emergency roadside assistance to motorists in need of help along the two-mile-long drive-through holiday light show.

“You never know when your car will have issues – it could be right in the middle of a fun night out with the family,” said Todd Ingraham, AAA WCNY Central Fleet Operations Manager. “From a dead battery to a flat tire, we want to make sure motorists have peace of mind and can enjoy the holiday display.”

You don’t have to be a AAA member to take advantage of the services. AAA has long been known for emergency roadside services and is happy to be a part of a time-honored tradition in Syracuse. Social distancing and masks are required when dealing with emergency road service.

The drive-through experience of Lights on the Lake will run through Sunday, January 10th from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly at Onondaga Lake Park. This year, to create a contactless process, ticket sales are online only. You can find more information at www.lightsonthelake.com.
