On December 26, 2020, AAA roadside technician Scott Swank witnessed a speeding car crash, flip over and catch fire in Syracuse. He sprang into action, risking his own life, to pull two passengers from the burning vehicle.

As a follow up, he took steps to further protect the welfare of others by lobbying to have every AAA truck equipped with new safety tools, which will go a long way to save lives across Western and Central New York.

On Friday, January 22, AAA will recognize Scott for his heroic actions and will present him with awards and special commemorations, including an effort to assist a regional fire department. The new tool will also be unveiled.
