Mark Gruba has been named Communications Specialist for AAA Western and Central New York. He brings more than 25 years of media and communications experience to the position and will assist with both internal and external communications and media relations throughout the region.

Mark is a familiar face in Rochester having anchored sports and news for over two decades on local television. He most recently served as the award-winning Morning and Noon Anchor for WROC-TV. Prior to that he was the Sports Director and Weekend Sports Anchor at WHEC-TV.

Now he’s excited to join the AAA team. “AAA is all about family,” he said. “My grandfather was a AAA member for 50 years. My mom was the queen of TripTiks!”

Mark will use his extensive writing and video production experience to help share the numerous benefits enjoyed by AAA members – from roadside assistance, to driver training, travel, insurance, and more. In his new role, he will also assist with community relations and AAA’s extensive traffic safety efforts.

“AAA is one of the most recognizable and respected brands,” Mark said. “I’m proud to represent the organization and look forward to using my skills and relationships with local media to help spread the word about everything AAA has to offer.”

Mark resides in Fairport with his wife and three children. In his free time he enjoys golfing, skiing, and traveling.

He will be working out of the Penfield AAA Travel & Insurance Center and will also help with communication needs at the Greece location as well as providing communications support across the region.
