Fans can’t lose when cheering the Bills on the road

Plenty to enjoy at these away game destinations

It has become a rite of passage for the Bills Mafia to cheer on the team on the road. Fans anxiously await the release of the Buffalo Bills schedule to begin choosing destinations where they’ll combine football with travel. It’s a winning combination that’s growing in popularity.

In fact, a recent travel survey from AAA and Bread Financial confirms a popular travel trend where travelers (especially younger ones) want to enjoy experiences like event travel. 65 percent of Gen Z and 58 percent of Millennial respondents confirmed they have traveled, or plan to soon, for in-person events away from home like live concerts or sporting events. 43 percent of Gen X and 27 percent of Baby Boomers do the same.

FOMO (fear of missing out) is driving event travel with 34 percent of all travelers saying it played a role in their decision.

AAA doesn’t want any of its members to experience FOMO, so with football fever in the air, we are sharing some suggestions for fans who are looking see the Bills in action against some of their biggest rivals on the competition’s turf.

Join us for the Jets

It’s fitting to start with a pre-planned trip just for Bills fans. AAA Group Travel is out with a tour package to catch an October game on the road vs. the New York Jets, and space is still available.

The trip to the Meadowlands runs October 14-15, 2024, with the Monday Night Football game taking place at 8:15 p.m. on October 14. It includes roundtrip transportation from Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse, a Bills Mafia Tailgate Party at MetLife Stadium, game ticket, hotel, breakfast, taxes, and more.

Packages are available now with pricing starting at $599 per person based on quadruple occupancy (four per room). Fans will even travel in style with their own AAA Group Travel Tour Host leading the way and ensuring a smooth trip. Space is limited and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Full payment is due at the time of booking.

Texas is calling

Why not travel to the Lone Star State to enjoy some fierce competition as Josh Allen faces off against his former teammate Stefon Diggs and the Houston Texans? Besides football action, there’s another great reason for fans to put this October 6, 1:00 p.m., game on their travel bucket list.

Houston is less than an hour from Galveston Island where beach life awaits. Fans could do a pre- or post-game getaway, or even add a cruise to Cozumel into the mix. Royal Caribbean has invested $125 million into the new Port of Galveston - everything’s bigger in Texas including the state-of-the-art facility that can accommodate larger cruise ships.

There’s no way to lose by blending a true vacation with football frenzy!

Miami beach awaits

It’s no surprise that Miami is a top destination for away games every season. Fans enjoy the opportunity to hit the beach, and cheer on the team. This year, the Bills take on the Dolphins early in the season on September 12 at 8:15 p.m. The Thursday night game provides the perfect opportunity for a long weekend even if it isn’t a winter escape.

AAA Travel Advisors can help you plan the perfect trip with a one-night stay close to Hard Rock Stadium, followed by a beach getaway in Miami or Fort Lauderdale complete with a visit to the Elbo Room, where the Bills Mafia are certain to be present.

For fans who have time to take things a step further, AAA can arrange an extended trip to the Florida Keys or Key West following the game. The drive down U.S. 1 affords travelers beautiful views and Caribbean-like resorts with a kicked back island feel.

California dreaming

Fans looking to escape some potentially frightful Buffalo weather should consider the game versus the Los Angeles Rams on December 8. Unfortunately, AAA Group Travel’s tour package is sold out, but travelers can still get in on the action.

The game kicks off at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday affording fans pre- or post-options. Arrive early or stay late to enjoy California beaches and Hollywood attractions or make the trip even more magical with a trip to Disneyland Resort, which will be decked out for the holidays!

Each year, Disneyland transforms into a holiday spectacle – even Mickey and Minnie will show off new holiday attire while the park will be glowing in sparkling lights and seasonal displays. Fans can even get a jump start on their holiday shopping with collectibles and more.

AAA Western and Central New York specializes in Disney bookings with certified vacation planners who are part of “Mickey’s Gang.” Now is the time to plan that memorable vacation complete with a Bills win!
