AAA is excited to announce that Gene Boehm has been appointed President and CEO Designate for AAA, Inc., effective April 1. In this position, Boehm will lead the national team responsible for supporting the federation of AAA clubs and its over 57 million members in the United States.

“I am honored that the AAA Board and selection committee have entrusted me with the incredible responsibility of leading the gold standard of brands,” said Boehm. “Marshall leaves an impressive legacy for his dedication to AAA’s mission serving members, and I am committed to continuing that work.”

Boehm joined the executive team at The Auto Club Group (ACG) in 2017, where he has served as Senior Vice President, leading strategy, sustainability, and direct sales. In this role, Boehm was responsible for launching the Office of Sustainability, engaged in long-term strategic planning and led a team of over 1,000 call center professionals who served AAA members every day.

Before joining ACG, Boehm worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), consulting with leading companies on strategy, mergers, and customer experience. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Allstate, Arthur Anderson and Walgreens.  He earned a master's degree in industrial & organizational psychology and a bachelor's in psychology from Illinois State University.

Boehm will succeed current CEO and President Marshall Doney, who has led the organization for the last nine years. Doney will retire at the end of June, wrapping up a 40-year career with AAA, which began in Wisconsin, where he was hired as Assistant District Manager. Doney has led AAA, Inc. through a period of strong innovation, collaboration and service.

After a rigorous selection process conducted by a committee of AAA club leaders, Boehm was unanimously selected for the position.

“Gene embodies the spirit of collaboration and inclusivity,” said Paula Collins, AAA Board of Directors Chair and member of the selection committee. “He brings new strategic perspective, high energy, and a passion for AAA’s mission that will allow us to deliver the highest quality service to our members and remain one of the most trusted brands in America.”

Boehm and his wife of 29 years, Katie have two grown sons, Adam and Luke. They enjoy traveling and running marathons together and are excited to start their next chapter in Florida, where AAA, Inc. is based.
