AAA Western and Central New York is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of the Allianz Partners Top Club Award. Allianz is a worldwide leading provider of travel insurance. AAA Western and Central New York experienced distinguished results during 2023 for providing travel insurance to local travelers looking to protect their vacation investments. Sales of travel insurance have risen substantially since the pandemic. AAA saw an increase in overall sales and year over year growth as travelers continue to rely on insurance for peace of mind.

“Travel is reaching new heights with travelers taking once in a lifetime journeys around the globe as they check off their travel bucket list,” explained Carol DiOrio, Vice President of Travel at AAA Western and Central New York. “It’s crucial to protect such investments for peace of mind and to prepare for the unexpected.”

AAA Western and Central New York has been named the winner of the Allianz Partners Top Club Award for mid-size AAA clubs, with 500,000 to 5 million members.

“AAA Western and Central New York won this award twice in recent years. This is a prestigious award, and it means that AAA cares about their members and wants to make sure they travel safely,” said Richard Aquino, Vice President, Allianz Partners U.S.

A presentation was held on April 11 at AAA Western and Central New York’s Amherst headquarters at 100 International Dr. where local leaders accepted the recognition. Representatives from Allianz Partners and the AAA National Office, along with regional AAA leaders were present for the event, which was followed by a luncheon. AAA Western and Central New York recognized three Senior Travel Advisors – one in each region: Cheryl Smith (AAA Amherst), Tracey Miller (AAA Penfield/AAA Plus Virtual Team), and Meghan Sheehan (AAA Camillus).

“I’d like to congratulate our outstanding travel advisors on their accomplishments in protecting the investments of AAA members,” DiOrio added. “Our knowledgeable travel advisors help travelers navigate through the insurance process.”

AAA research shows that travelers invest in insurance for many reasons including the ability to obtain refunds for covered cancellations, to pay for unexpected covered health incidents, and to protect against covered delays and lost baggage. AAA also offers Allianz travel insurance policies that include a “cancel for any reason” component, which could offer more flexibility and protection in the event a traveler needs to cancel their trip.
