AAA Western and Central New York CEO Named Chair of National Committee

AAA Western and Central New York is pleased to announce that President and CEO Anthony B. Spada has been appointed chair of the Public Affairs Committee with the AAA National Office. By serving as chair at the national level for the next two years, Mr. Spada will lead AAA on Public Affairs advocacy and strategies across the United States right from Western and Central New York.

Among other duties, Mr. Spada will be responsible for leading public policy on significant national issues and recommending programs and initiatives designed to deliver AAA’s public policy message to authorities, allied organizations, members, and the general public. As chair, he will also articulate and endorse research needs to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, where he also serves a board member.

Founded in 1947, the Foundation is a not-for-profit, publicly supported charitable research and education organization dedicated to saving lives by preventing traffic crashes and reducing injuries when crashes occur.

Nationally, AAA provides more than 62 million members with automotive, travel, insurance and financial services through its federation of 30 motor clubs and more than 1,000 branch offices across North America. Since 1902, the not-for-profit, fully tax-paying AAA has been a leader and advocate for safe mobility. 

AAA Western and Central New York dates back to 1900. Mr. Spada has led the local organization since 2012 and has been with the motor club for nearly 40 years. A resident of Williamsville, Mr. Spada is actively involved in the community and lends his expertise to several organizations, including the Buffalo Niagara Partnership where he sits on the board of directors. 

Mr. Spada graduated from Canisius College with a master’s degree in Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He also received a CFO Certificate from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.  He is involved in several other AAA national committees.
