Medicare’s annual open enrollment period is from October 15 – December 7. Medicare is the federal insurance program for people who are 65 or older or certain younger people with disabilities. AAA Western and Central New York is here to help individuals navigate Medicare and its complex guidelines. With local Medicare insurance agents operating out of the Buffalo and Syracuse regions, AAA Western and Central New York continues to offer personalized Medicare consultations, virtual review, and online information sessions.

AAA’s Medicare experts will review an individual’s Medicare health plan choices, help them understand their Medicare options, and find the best plan for their needs. AAA Medicare insurance agents will shop plans to find clients the best savings. Interested individuals can call 877-477-7120 or schedule an appointment online to speak with an agent. The Medicare agent can meet clients at one of our branches or attend a virtual meeting.

To help the public navigate the journey through Medicare, AAA Western and Central New York is offering complimentary online Medicare workshops. Interested individuals do not need to be a AAA member to join the informational sessions to have their Medicare questions answered.

The next Medicare 101 - Virtual Webinar will be held on Monday, 10/25/2021 at 3:00 p.m. Join AAA’s Medicare 101 Virtual Webinars by signing up in advance.

Medicare has four main "Parts" that cover specific services. These are:

  • Part A for hospital insurance. This is for inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care and some health care services.
  • Part B for medical insurance. This covers certain doctor's services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventative services.
  • Part C aka Medicare Advantage. This is Medicare through a health care provider.
  • Part D for prescription drug coverage. Part D adds prescription drug coverage to original Medicare and Medicare-related plans.

Navigating the Medicare process alone can be difficult, and it can be time consuming. By taking part in a complimentary webinar, participants can talk to an expert who's AHIP (America's Health Insurance Plans) licensed. Medicare insurance experts are recertified and licensed annually to understand Medicare plans. AAA’s experts are on standby to assist consumers.
