Automotive and IT Departments See New Leaders

AAA Western and Central New York is pleased to announce several promotions of hard-working associates:

Automotive:
 

Thomas Thompson III has been promoted to the position of Senior Manager, Automotive Systems and Processes. In this role, Tom will focus on the development of processes, procedures and systems to further improve AAA automotive operations. Tom will interface with the leaders of AAA fleet, dispatch operations, along with AAA’s extensive contractor network, to develop and implement best practices, and to create a long-term automotive business planning process. Tom retired from General Motors in Tonawanda after a successful 40-year career. Since joining AAA over one year ago, Tom has proven himself as a strong leader who drives teamwork and success. Tom lives in Grand Island.

Scott Simpson has been promoted to Automotive Operations Specialist under the leadership of Tom Thompson. He will assist with the development and implementation of processes, procedures and systems to further improve AAA automotive operations. Since joining AAA more than six years ago, Scott has a proven track record as Fleet Supervisor and has also lent his expertise to AAA Car Care Plus. He has been awarded by Bryant & Stratton College for his continuing education efforts. Scott lives in Lockport.

In an effort to continually improve our overall member experience with emergency road service, AAA will take advantage of new technology and methodologies in dispatch operations. Mark Miles, Dispatch Manager, will lead the new effort that creates a single dispatch team across the Western and Central New York region to best serve our members. Mark lives in Lockport and works out of AAA’s dispatch center in Cheektowaga. He began his career with AAA in Cincinnati in 1983 and began working for AAA Western and Central New York in 2005.

Information Technology:
 

Andrea Rivers has been promoted to Service Desk Manager and will continue to drive a customer service focus in AAA’s technology support function as she has as Service Desk Assistant Manager - a role she took on in 2019 when she joined AAA. In that time, Andrea has shown passion and caring amidst a busy IT environment. Andrea lives in Cheektowaga and previously managed the IT Service Desks at IBM, before coming to AAA.

Mike Schallmo is taking on a new role as IT Manager of Operations & Systems Administration at AAA Western and Central New York.  Mike will be responsible for data center operations, administration of server environments, and other duties.  Mike joined AAA in 2001 and most recently worked as Application Support and Integration Manager. He lives in Rochester.
