With information changing rapidly, AAA Western and Central New York is working to keep members and the public informed amid the ongoing pandemic.

Here are some travel updates as of Tuesday, April 7:

  • Many Hard Rock Hotels that closed temporarily plan to reopen on May 1 – Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, and Cancun. Talk to you travel consultant about rescheduling.
  • Hyatt: Most reservations made between April 1, 2020 and June 30, 2020 – for any future arrival date – can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival.
  • More than a dozen states are discouraging interstate travel by announcing quarantine requirements for travelers or people who live there traveling home from other states, including Florida. Check with travel consultant or the CDC before trying to drive anywhere.
  • Viking Cruises – the cruise line is unveiling American river cruising in 2022 along the Mississippi River – 8 or 15 night cruises – 4 itineraries! This is a much-awaited opportunity and a new ship is being constructed. If you are a past Viking guest, book by April 15 to save $1,000.

With information changing rapidly and, in an effort, to keep the public informed, AAA will share the latest information with radio host Roger Christian each weekday morning on WECK Buffalo. These segments run at 8:35 a.m. with an earlier segment on Thursdays at 8:15 a.m.

Please note that there may be more cancellations and suspensions since this was published as the situation continues to evolve quickly. Concerned travelers should always reach out to their travel consultant for the latest information. When AAA Western and Central New York receives notifications, the travel department immediately pulls a list of all travelers on that itinerary and proactively reaches out to them to assist with their travel needs.

AAA is here for travelers before, during and after their trip and throughout this pandemic.
