With information changing rapidly, AAA Western and Central New York is working to keep members and the public informed amid the ongoing pandemic.

Here are some travel updates for Monday, March 30:

  • President Trump’s new directive, to expand social distancing through April 20, will impact Easter travel, which will impact many families, as well as businesses, since that is peak travel time.
  • The City of Key West has extended the State of Local Emergency for the next seven days, and travelers are not being allowed into the Keys.
  • Disney Destinations have temporarily closed indefinitely.  While unsure of the date to reopen, Disney has a special offer available for eligible guests to rebook by May 31 for travel June 1 through September 30, 2020. Park tickets with a valid use period affected by the closure will be extended into December. Contact your AAA Travel Consultant for more details.
  • Gas prices continue to plummet – the national average is now $2 per gallon – down another 13 cents over the past week. Motorists haven’t seen prices this low since 2016, yet most consumers can’t take advantage of the prices due to limited travel.

With information changing rapidly and, in an effort, to keep the public informed, AAA will share the latest information with radio host Roger Christian each weekday morning on WECK Buffalo. These segments run at 8:35 a.m. with an earlier segment on Thursdays at 8:15 a.m.

Please note that there may be more cancellations and suspensions since this was published as the situation continues to evolve quickly. Concerned travelers should always reach out to their travel consultant for the latest information. When AAA Western and Central New York receives notifications, the travel department immediately pulls a list of all travelers on that itinerary and proactively reaches out to them to assist with their travel needs.

AAA is here for travelers before, during and after their trip and throughout this pandemic.
