With information changing rapidly, AAA Western and Central New York is working to keep members and the public informed amid the ongoing pandemic.

Here are some travel updates for Friday, March 27:

  • Motorists should be aware that if they are staying home due to the pandemic, their car battery could die after a period of non-use. AAA is reminding motorists to start their vehicles and drive periodically to keep the battery in good working condition. Motorists should be aware of signs that show a car's battery is nearing the end of its life such as cranking, buzzing or stalling. AAA’s Mobile Battery Service can test and replace batteries in your driveway.
  • Adventures by Disney has cancelled all bookings through May – they offer guided tours and family experiences across six continents.
  • It is very important for travelers to check with AAA travel consultants, or airlines directly, to inquire about schedule changes for flights as airlines are reducing schedules, and many flight times are being affected.
  • On this Saturday’s edition of AAA Talking Travel, AAA WCNY Director of Travel Brian Murray will explain how the Coronavirus is impacting cruising and what that means for the upcoming Alaska season.

With information changing rapidly and, in an effort, to keep the public informed, AAA will share the latest information with radio host Roger Christian each weekday morning on WECK Buffalo. These segments run at 8:35 a.m. with an earlier segment on Thursdays at 8:15 a.m.

Please note that there may be more cancellations and suspensions since this was published as the situation continues to evolve quickly. Concerned travelers should always reach out to their travel consultant for the latest information. When AAA Western and Central New York receives notifications, the travel department immediately pulls a list of all travelers on that itinerary and proactively reaches out to them to assist with their travel needs.

AAA is here for travelers before, during and after their trip and throughout this pandemic.
