With information changing rapidly, AAA Western and Central New York is working to keep members and the public informed amid the ongoing pandemic.

Here are some travel updates for Tuesday, March 24:

  • The 2020 Olympic Games have been rescheduled to 2021.
  • The governor of Florida has announced that anyone flying to Florida from New York or New Jersey airports must quarantine for 14 days.
  • AmaWaterways has extended temporary suspension of river cruise operations in Europe, Asia and Africa through May 31, 2020 and plans to commence cruising June 1, 2020.
  • AAA Western and Central New York’s 2020 Member Appreciation Trip was scheduled on AmaWaterways, from May 7 to 14, from Paris to Normandy. No rescheduled date has been determined at this time.
  • AAA WCNY is preparing online travel content to keep travelers learning and dreaming about traveling to fun and exciting (or relaxing) destinations. WECK Radio’s Travel Tuesday question of the day asked travelers what places they would like to explore online now – and in-person after the pandemic passes.
  • Travel opportunities – most cruise lines are offering specials for travelers who want to book now and travel later. Contact your travel consultant for more information.

With information changing rapidly and, in an effort, to keep the public informed, AAA will share the latest information with radio host Roger Christian each weekday morning on WECK Buffalo. These segments run at 8:35 a.m. with an earlier segment on Thursdays at 8:15 a.m.

Please note that there may be more cancellations and suspensions since this was published as the situation continues to evolve quickly. Concerned travelers should always reach out to their travel consultant for the latest information. When AAA Western and Central New York receives notifications, the travel department immediately pulls a list of all travelers on that itinerary and proactively reaches out to them to assist with their travel needs.

AAA is here for travelers before, during and after their trip and throughout this pandemic.
