After an overwhelming response to our virtual five-hour pre-licensing course, AAA Western and Central New York continues to add more dates to accommodate the demand from area students. As one of the first local driving schools to offer the course virtually, guided by an experienced, trained instructor, personnel from AAA Driver Training are thrilled over the positive response to the program.

“The response to the virtual course has been very strong and students are adapting well,” said Mike Formanowicz, manager of AAA Driver Training. “We urge any driver who is awaiting this coursework to reserve space in one of our virtual classes.”

AAA instructors lead the class remotely from a computer, sharing images and videos and responding directly to student questions. The virtual class option takes place on Zoom during a specific time, similar to a classroom lesson.

Other self-paced online training options include defensive driving, which qualifies the driver for an insurance reduction. The self-paced online portion of AAA License To Learn (LTL) program is also available and provides young drivers with a good foundation before they become licensed. AAA in-car driving lessons and driver evaluations are now available with proper car cleaning after each lesson and good hygiene, social distancing and safety protocols in place.

New registrations are now offered for virtual classes. Students simply register at AAA.com/DriverTraining.
